Ice cream and summer go together like the beach and sunshine, and New Zealand Creameries have decided to make summer just that little more delicious with the release of a new flavour – Motueka Creamery Bark Bay Belgium Chocolate.
Each year Motueka Creamery, a boutique ice cream producer based in the top of the South Island, releases a new flavour for summer.
“The Nelson Tasman region is famous for sunshine and our wonderful, fresh produce. This summer’s new flavour combines locally-sourced real cream with premium Belgian chocolate to create an indulgent triple chocolate delight for chocolate lovers - decadent chocolate ice cream swirled with a luxurious chocolate ripple and dark Belgian chocolate flakes”, says Dene Brosnan from New Zealand Creameries.
“Belgium has been a chocolate-producing country for almost 400 years. It’s a relatively small country, but like New Zealand, has a real pride in creating premium products recognised as being the best internationally.”
While New Zealanders love eating ice cream all year round, there is a special connection between ice cream, the beach, and hot summer days, with a beautiful beach holiday location providing the inspiration for the name.
“Bark Bay is a special place in the Abel Tasman National Park. We chose it for this chocolate, as like Belgian chocolate, it is iconic and represents the best of the best.
Bark Bay Belgian Chocolate is available now in leading supermarkets nationwide. It joins the other award-winning flavours in the Motueka Creamery range: Mt Arthur Snowfall Vanilla , Ruby Bay Sunset Passionfruit, Breaker Bay White Chocolate and Raspberry, and Moutere Fields Strawberry and Cream Meringue.
