As one of the largest privately owned companies in the South Island, we employ close to a thousand full time staff and an additional 600 staff across the seasons at nine different locations, with our Head Office based in Motueka.
In Blenheim, we process fresh Greenshell™ Mussels by partially steaming them open and removing one of the shells (leaving the mussel meat attached to the other shell), ready to be frozen, packed and dispatched to restaurants around the world.
We also process locally grown vegetables at our Blenheim plant. Spinach processing from late August to November, Pea processing from late October to February, Corn Processing from January to May and other vegetable processing including carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and onions from May until late July.
The expansive site at Port Motueka is home to our head office, a fish pack house, a fishmeal plant, shellfish processing facilities, an ice cream factory and a brand new state-of-the-art added value plant with complete Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) and advanced packaging facilities.
Port Nelson is where our fishing fleets come and go from.
In Westport, we have another specialised fish processing facility, well positioned to take advantage of the seasonal fisheries nearby.
At our Ashburton factory, we process a wide range of vegetables grown in the surrounding area. Our seasons are: Pea processing from mid-December to February, Potato, corn and carrot processing from February to June, Stored potato season from July to December.
Our Timaru operation is a specialised fish processing facility. Employing the latest technological advancements in machinery and production methods, it’s one of the most technologically advanced in the country.
